Yamandu Costa is one of the most famous composers and arrangers in Brazil, and an extraordinarily talented musician. From an early age Yamandu Costa has given very personal interpretations to the classic and popular music of Brazilian masters. Like a real gaúcho, the musical styles of southern Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, permeate his work. Yamandu gained international recognition following his role in the documentary Brasileirinho (2005) on the history of choro music in Rio de Janeiro.
Sambista and singer-songwriter Paulinho da Viola has acquired a mythical status in Brazil. A legendary master of classical samba, who will only perform abroad at rare occasions. In June, he joined the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra for Brasil Sinfônico. Shortly after, Paulinho impressed millions of people with a unique version of the Brazilian national anthem at the opening ceremony of the Rio Olympic Games 2016.
